SEND Pupils: Navigating Transitions and Preparing for Adulthood
Speaker
Introduction
Transitions into adulthood are one of the most challenging and high risk areas in SEND practice. When planning goes wrong, young people can be left without vital support, and it can expose services to unlawful decisions, gaps in care, and significant financial consequences.
This new virtual classroom seminar provides you with the clarity and confidence needed to manage one of the most high risk areas in SEND practice. With increasing emphasis on personalisation, statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, and integrated health and social care planning, understanding the evolving landscape is essential.
You will gain a clear understanding of statutory duties, best practice approaches to assessment, and practical strategies to prevent disputes and strengthen decision making. The training will also outline the consequences of unlawful decisions and how to challenge these through Ombudsman complaints, SEND Tribunal appeals, and judicial review.
