Introduction

This webinar will take you through the measurement and computerisation of the boundary survey, as well as providing a clear understanding of fundamental land surveying principles to reduce, and potentially eliminate, site measurement errors and discrepancies.

If you either carry out or supervise/instruct site measurement surveys, then this webinar is for you.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • Total Stations, Distos and GNSS (satellite) measurement
  • What accuracy are you working to? (The RICS Standard accuracy table)
  • How do you fix the position of a feature that you cannot gain access to?
  • The significance of hedge trunklines. Which way do fences usually face? Individual trees
  • The importance of neat sketches that may be needed in Court at a later date
  • The correct scale to use. Autocad (or similar)
  • You have completed your survey plot and have the deed plans on your desk. How do you carry out the boundary analysis?
  • The use of GNSS (satellite measurement) co-ordinates for Land Registry plans and in complying with Court Orders
  • When should you instruct a land surveyor (under supervision) rather than measuring the property yourself?

This pre-recorded webinar will be available to view from Monday 22nd June 2026
