Introduction

This virtual classroom seminar examines liability issues arising from accidents involving micromobility, including cyclists and other vulnerable road users such as e-scooter riders and mobility scooter users. The pandemic has had a lasting impact on travel behaviour, with increased use of e-scooters and bicycles, whether powered or unpowered.

By attending this live session, you will learn how the courts approach liability in collisions involving cyclists and similar road users, injuries caused by hazardous features of land or highways and the difficult question of fault in collisions with pedestrians. By the end of the session, you will be better equipped to assess liability in these situations.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • Liability of cyclists and other vulnerable road users in the UK - overview
  • Regulation of e-bikes and e-scooters and reform
  • Liability of car drivers to cyclists
  • Contributory negligence - cycle helmets, reflective clothing
  • Pedestrian vs bicycle/e-scooters/motorbikes/mobility scooters

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
