One of our newer speakers, Kirsty Swinburn has been presenting for MBL since 2025 on topics such as farm diversification and the Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMS).
As a Senior Manager in the Private Client team at BHP, she undertakes all aspects of personal tax advisory and compliance work with a focus on Capital Taxes planning, as well as being responsible for much of the technical training within the Tax Department.
Having had a lifelong passion for natural history, Kirsty has a particular interest in the tax position of the developing Natural Capital markets, such as Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and the Carbon Codes, as well as of other environmental land uses.
A Seasoned Traveller
Outside of work, Kirsty enjoys travelling and has visited many wildlife hotspots including Madagascar, Peru, South Africa and Australia.
Having acquired a dog a few years ago, her travels are now focused in and around the UK and, at every opportunity, she (and dog!) will take off and explore another area of the country, ranging from the Outer Hebrides to the Isles of Scilly and many places in between - always with camera in hand!
